Iza Szostak Ciao Dziecko Obiekt Ars Stations Foundation by Grayna Kulczyk7The show Body.Child.Object explores topics related to the experience of childhood, a time preserved in familial and individual memory. Childhood consists of traces and objects: toys, notebooks and other things that often evoke the former feelings of sadness, fear or joy. How large can the museum of our childhood be? Does it fit into a pocket or can it reach the clouds? Is it a plain anecdote or a memory that has not been worked over yet? Iza Szostak is interested in working with memory, in the physical reconstruction of states and signs of the past: a bygone reality in a socio-cultural and individual dimension.

IZA SZOSTAK is a dancer and choreographer, a graduate of the Secondary Ballet School, Warsaw (2003) and of the Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy, the Netherlands (2008). She is currently a student at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw. In 2007, she completed an apprenticeship with Jan Fabre’s company Troubleyn, Belgium. She has worked with Michael Schumacher, Amy Raymond, Taldanse and Anna Holter. In her practice, Iza Szostak cites authentic movement and choreology. She greatly enjoys teaching dance and movement composition. She co-creates the Warsaw-based choreographers’ association Centrum w Ruchu.
