What do you really miss foto sm

I am working here with two movement patterns. These patterns unfold into a choreography through interweaving processes: through a process of recognition and by paying a close attention towards an individual logic and geometry of a given gesture, and through a process of negotiating directions, rhythm and intensity while moving.

Maria Zimpel, choreographer and a dancer. She works with somatics and autobiographical abstraction. Her pieces are various forms of creating intensities. In movement research she focuses on exploring limits of physicality. She continue developing movement language which manifests the multiplicity of corporality.
Her creations: “Working like a dog”. “What do you really miss?”, “s c a t t e r”, noish~[commotion in moderation], What do you really miss?(trio). Currently she develops a project “Body and Fiction”.
As a dancer she worked mainly with: Isabelle Schad, Rosalind Crisp and Kat Valastur.
She studied Dance, Choreography and Context at HZT in Berlin, and Cultural Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where she received her MA. In 2009 she was a recipient of DanceWeb Scholarship. Various somatic practices and practices of Gill Clark, Isabelle Shand and the “choreographic improvisation” of Rosalind Crisp had an important influence on her approach to dance and choreography.
